Out of comfort zone

This is the first time I have the courage and time to set myself in a place of student's life again after 17 years of working as a dancer/choreographer/teacher in the field.  To be honest I was super excited and overwhelmed with all the information from the first Skype meeting.

My background was a ballet dancer, I started my full-time training from 11 years old in Vietnamese Dancing College and now it established as Vietnam Academy of Dance. After 7 years of Vaganova Ballet training, I received a full scholarship from HongKong Academy for Performing Arts. During this period I had started opening my view to different styles from Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Musical and because of that my perspective and focus had shipped out of ballet mindset. I was lucky enough when I got an offer from Wayne McGregor/Random Dance Company where my practice was not just a dancer but choreographer and teacher was well established during my time in the UK.

As an Artist, I am always aware of the importance of lifelong learning. I have accumulated different skills, experiences throughout my entire career from dancer to choreographer and teacher. I now feel it is time for me to look back into my journey to reflect and articulate those skills, experiences and existing knowledge. My biggest challenge is how to arrange and contextualize them into the academy setting. In contradiction with it, I can easily spend hours in the studio to explore and create work. I believe entering MAPP is the right decision and I must admit that it is really out of my comfort zone as my practice is mainly studio base, so my door is always open and welcome to all of sharing and feedback.

I am starting Module One and I would be grateful if anyone can share your experience in Module One.
